Imperium Renewable Begins Full Scale Construction at Port of Grays Harbor Site

Imperium Renewables, Inc., the nation’s leading producer of biodiesel has begun full scale construction at their Port of Grays Harbor site. A target of mid-2007 has been set to begin producing the sustainable fuel source. The plant will generate 100 million gallons of biodiesel a year at the Grays Harbor site, and is expected to employ 50 workers upon completion. More than 200 workers are expected to be involved during construction.

Biodiesel is derived from a variety of renewable agricultural resources and can be burned in any conventional diesel engine, either in pure form or blended in any proportion with petroleum diesel.

The unique characteristics of the Grays Harbor location allows provides the company with the available land, deepwater marine access and rail service. Imperium Grays Harbor may utilize the marine terminal to import raw materials to the site via the deep water marine channel. “This project is a welcome addition to the Grays Harbor working waterfront,” reports Gary Nelson, Port Executive Director. “Imperium’s reputation as a leader in biodiesel production joins a list of ‘green’ or sustainable companies growing in Grays Harbor.”
