Shay named to South Sound Top 40 Under 40

October 2018 – Satsop Business Park Manager of Business Development Alissa Shay was recently named to the South Sound Business Magazine’s 2018 class of 40 Under 40. The South Sound Business Magazine received more than 100 nominations for the coveted honor, ultimately narrowing it down to this year’s top 40, representing a diverse range of professions throughout the region.

“It is an honor to be working to create more job opportunities for people in our region while helping existing Port customers be successful in Grays Harbor. I am proud of the work we do to help make Grays Harbor a prosperous and vibrant community,” shared Alissa Shay. As Manager of Business Development, Ms. Shay has recently overseen the recruitment of Xpress Natural Gas, Overstock.com’s Customer Care Call Center and Fuller Hill Development Company who combined employ more than 350 people at the Park. Recreational properties Friends Landing and Sterling Landing have also been added to the Port’s portfolio during her tenure, with record breaking camping nights occurring in multiple years under her management.

“Alissa is most deserving of this honor and we are proud of all she has accomplished during her tenure,” said Executive Director Gary Nelson. “I am confident the Port and the community will continue to benefit from her leadership and experience as her career continues flourish.”

Ms. Shay joined the Port team in 2013 after spending more than 5 years at the City of Hoquiam as the City Planner. She is responsible for business development and operations at the Satsop Business Park and Friends Landing. Ms. Shay holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Evergreen State College, a Bachelor’s in Planning and Environmental Policy from Western Washington University.
